Rain tapers off in Chicago, wind brings dangerous conditions on Lake Michigan

Dry, cool start to work week in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS)  — Rain showers will taper off in the Chicago area Sunday evening. Then, northerly, cool winds will increase 15 to 25 mph. This wind flow will create dangerous waves of 5 to 10 feet Sunday night and Monday.

The cold front opens the door for a cooler air mass to rush in, but the front stalls across central Illinois and Indiana on Monday, keeping extra clouds around. Expect a dry day to start the work week, but temperatures will only top out in the upper 60s.

An upper-level disturbance will head toward Chicago Monday night into Tuesday, bringing rain, especially east of Interstate 55 and into Indiana.
