Boy, 16, Shot In Lawndale

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 16-year-old boy was shot and wounded Tuesday afternoon in Lawndale.

Around 1:55 p.m., the boy was standing in the 4100 block of West 15th Street when a gray vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots at him, police said.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the left thigh and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

Area Central detectives were investigating Tuesday night.
