Bodies Of Mother, Three Children Found In Chatham Home, Deaths Ruled Homicides
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police are investigating the deaths of a woman and her three young sons after their bodies found Saturday night in a home in the Chatham neighborhood.
CBS 2's Brad Edwards reports the deaths are now being investigated as homicides
Investigators were seen removing evidence in plastic bags and neighbors caught glimpses of officers in Hazmat suits.
It appears they were checking on the welfare of the people in a home in the area of 83rd and Drexel and eventually discovered four bodies in a state of decay.
A family member says a 27-year-old Latoya Jackson, and her three boys: Andrew, 11, Cameron, 9, and Cantrell, 5, were found dead.
They lived in the home for less than a year. That relative has no idea how this could happen isn't aware of any domestic issues in the family.
"I don't know who to talk to and they have everything sealed off so you don't know who to talk to and we need information also," said Leon Ervin, the boys' grandfather.
Ervin says he saw them two weeks ago and took them to McDonald's.
The death of her grandson Andrew brings back painful memories for Denise Simms, whose son, Andrew Simms Sr., was murdered in 2005.
