Blues Outlast Blackhawks In Shootout For 4th Straight Win
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Kevin Shattenkirk scored the decisive goal in the sixth round of the shootout to lift the St. Louis Blues to a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night for their fourth straight win.
David Backes and Troy Brouwer scored in the third period for the Blues and Jake Allen stopped 33 shots through overtime to earn his 22nd win of the season. Patrik Berglund and Troy Brouwer also had goals in the tiebreaker.
Andrew Ladd scored in the second period and Artemi Panarin tied it late in the third for the Blackhawks, who fell to 32-0-3 win leading after two periods. Corey Crawford had 28 saves.
Panarin and Artem Anisimov scored in the shootout for the Chicago.
St. Louis is now tied with Chicago for second place in the Central Division, though the Blackhawks hold the tiebreaker with 40 regulation and overtime wins while the Blues have 34.
