Blackhawks Trade Morin To Blue Jackets For Defenseman Tim Erixon

(CBS) -- The Chicago Blackhawks have traded winger Jeremy Morin to the Columbus Blue Jackets for defenseman Tim Erixon.

Erixon, 23, has recorded one goal and five assists in 19 games with the Blue Jackets. He's played in 70 career NHL games over four seasons with the New York Rangers (2011-12) and the Blue Jackets (2012-2014).

Morin, 23, scored eight goals and recorded eight assists in 54 career games with the Blackhawks over four seasons. He was receiving little to no ice time for Chicago this season and reportedly wanted to receive playing time or be dealt.

The Blackhawks also reassigned defenseman Klas Dahlbeck to the Rockford Ice Hogs.
