Blackhawks To Play Blues In 1st Round Of Stanley Cup Playoffs

By Chris Emma--

(CBS) Pack your bags for a trip down I-55, Blackhawks fans. Chicago's aspirations for a Stanley Cup repeat will open up in St. Louis with a first-round series against the Blues.

By virtue of a loss to Washington on Saturday night, St. Louis sealed its second-place fate in the Central Division, setting up the showdown against rival Chicago, which was already locked into the third slot even before a 5-4 loss at Columbus in Saturday's regular-season finale. The Blackhawks finished the season with 103 points at 47-26-9. The Blues finished with 107 points.

The Blackhawks took the season series against the Blues with a 2-0-3 mark. That included St. Louis winning 2-1 in overtime at the United Center on Thursday.

The Stars earned the top seed in the Western Conference and will face the Wild in the first round.

Dates and times for the first-round series have yet to be announced.
