Blackhawks Recall Peter Regin
(CBS) The Blackhawks have recalled forward Peter Regin from AHL Rockford, they announced Thursday morning.
The move was necessitated after winger Patrick Sharp recently suffered a lower-body injury that will keep him out for a month and possibly longer.
The 28-year-old Regin appeared in three preseason contests with Chicago, recording one assist, before heading to Rockford, where he led the team with 10 points in 11 games this season. Regin recorded four points in 17 games for the Blackhawks last year after coming over in a February trade from the Islanders.
Chicago next plays Friday when it hosts the Washington Capitals at the United Center at 7:30 p.m.
