Blackhawks-Kings Game 7 Sets NBCSN Ratings Records In Markets

(CBS) Game 7 of an epic Western Conference Final between the Blackhawks and Kings had an audience that was worthy of the on-ice drama.

The deciding contest -- a 5-4 overtime win for the Kings that sent them to the Stanley Cup Final -- drew record ratings for NBC Sports Network in both the Chicago and Los Angeles markets. Chicago, of course, loves its hockey more than Los Angeles, and it registered a 22.7 rating. That means that 22.7 percent of all television-equipped households in the Chicago market were tuned in to the game at some point or another. It was a record for NHL action on the NBC Sports Network in the Chicago market.

Los Angeles netted a 4.8 rating, which was also a record for its market on NBC Sports Network.
