Quick, name a few pro sports teams in Chicago. You'll probably think of the White Sox, the Cubs, the Bears, the Bulls and the Sky. But did you know the city and suburbs boast a wide selection of pro wrestling events, too? While you may already have tickets to WWE Live at Allstate Arena on Sept. 24, there are plenty of additional pro wrestling shows in the Chicago area on the calendar where you may even be able to root for local heroes as they step into the ring. Many of the events are open to kids, too, so you can bring the entire family. If you're looking for a pro wrestling event, you likely won't have to travel far. Chicago-based pro wrestling company AAW Wrestling has a slew of upcoming events in the next few months in the city and suburbs. The lineup for upcoming shows is typically announced several weeks in advance of the event. Upcoming events include shows on September 16 and November 4 at 115 Bourbon Street and The Windy City Classic XII on November 26 at Logan Square Auditorium (2539 N. Kedzie Blvd., Chicago). Season 16 of Chikara comes to an end with The Chikara Supremacy. Held Dec. 3 at Logan Square Auditorium in the city's Logan Square neighborhood, the event kicks off at 7 p.m. and includes plenty of family-friendly events. Chikara's roster includes Hallowicked, Hermit Crab, Fire Ant and Princess Kimberlee, and you can take a look at character bios and the athletes' signature moves online. The next upcoming show is slated for Oct. 22 starting at 6 p.m. and includes a cast of characters complete with storylines that will keep you intrigued.
