Believe It Or Not: Normal Temperatures Coming Soon

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Here's something you haven't seen much in the forecast this winter: normal temperatures.

A warmup is on the way to Chicago, with temperatures likely to reach the 40s for three of the next five days.

To put it in perspective for you, Chicago's temperature has been in the 40s only seven days all year – or seven of the past 65 days.

The high on Friday should reach about 44 degrees, before a cold front brings freezing temperatures and possible snow on Saturday on Sunday.

Temperatures should return to normal after that, with a high of 45 on Monday and 40 on Tuesday.

After such a frigid winter, that might seem like a heat wave, but it's just what you should expect right now. The average high for early March in Chicago is 43 to 45 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
