Bears Sign Rookie RB Carey To 4-Year Deal
(CBS) The Bears have signed rookie running back Ka'Deem Carey to a four-year contract, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.
Chicago selected Carey with the first of its two fourth-round picks Saturday. He's expected to be a backup to Chicago starter Matt Forte.
An Arizona product and the Pac-10 offensive player of the year in 2013, Carey rushed for a school-record 4,239 yards and 48 touchdowns on 743 carries (5.7 ypc) in his three years with the Wildcats He also had 679 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 77 receptions. His 48 rushing touchdowns rank second in FBS history behind the 49 by Montee Ball of Wisconsin (2009-12).
The Bears have now signed four of their eight draft picks. They've also inked quarterback David Fales, safety Brock Vereen and offensive tackle Charles Leno.
