Bears Release CB Isaiah Frey
(CBS) The Bears have released cornerback Isaiah Frey, according to multiple reports.
Frey had been filling a nickel and dime role for Chicago after being on the active roster for the past three games. He played in all 16 games for the Bears in 2013 as the nickelback. He didn't make it on the initial 53-man roster out of training camp, in part because he was slowed by a hamstring injury. His elevation to the active roster came as Sherrick McManis suffered from a quad injury, but McManis seems on track to return Sunday at Atlanta.
There's still the possibility that Frey could end up back on the Bears' practice roster.
