Bears Re-Sign TE Dante Rosario To One Year Contract
By Adam Hoge-
(CBS) -- The Bears signed tight end Dante Rosario to a one-year contract Thursday, bringing him back as the team's No. 2 tight end for now.
The Bears sent their 2014 seventh round pick to Dallas at the beginning of last season to acquire Rosario, who primarily served as a special teamer. Rosario only caught one pass for 13 yards in 2013, as the Bears used offensive tackle Eben Britton frequently as an extra blocker instead of going to a second true tight end.
The Bears also have Fendi Onobun on the roster to compete with the tight ends in the offseason. He spent 2013 on the Bears' practice squad.
It wouldn't be surprising to see the Bears look to free agency or the NFL Draft to add more competition behind Martellus Bennett at the position.
