Bears QB Jay Cutler Inactive; Matt Barkley Starts Against The Titans

By Chris Emma--

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Quarterback Matt Barkley will make his first NFL start Sunday as the Bears have officially ruled Jay Cutler as inactive against the Titans.

Cutler suffered an injury to his throwing shoulder in the Bears' loss to the Giants last Sunday. The team didn't rule him out for the season, with coach John Fox declaring Cutler is day-to-day.

Details to Cutler's injury are unclear, though it's been reported that his injury is a partially torn labrum that he could possibly play through. Fox hasn't offered details.

Barkley has played in just one game as a Bear, the loss in Green Bay in October. He was 6-of-15 for 81 yards and two interceptions. In his career, Barkley has thrown for two touchdowns and six picks.

The Bears' inactives include De'Vante Bausby, Leonard Floyd, Deiondre' Hall, DeAndre Houston-Carson, Josh Sitton and Mitch Unrein.

Kickoff between the Bears (2-8) and Titans (5-6) comes at noon from foggy Soldier Field.
