Bears Part Ways With DL Idonije, QB Johnson
(CBS) -- The Chicago Bears are parting ways with defensive lineman Israel Idonije and quarterback Jerrod Johnson and have signed defensive end Jamil Merrell and linebacker Conor O'Neill.
The team made the announcement Thursday.
The Bears also waived safety Sean Cattouse and confirmed reports that tight end Fendi Onobun has been sent packing. The Bears terminated Idonije's contract; he had played for Chicago the past decade.
The Chicago Bears active roster currently sits at 88 players.
