Bears Notes: Fuller Is Probable For Sunday, But Briggs Is Doubtful

(CBS) Despite suffering a broken right hand and a right hip pointer last week, Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller is listed as probable to play in Sunday's contest at the New England Patriots.

Fuller is tied for third in the NFL in interceptions and is tied for the lead in forced fumbles, and he's been Chicago's best playmaker. Earlier in the week, Bears coach Marc Trestman expressed concern that the hip injury would be Fuller's biggest concern.

"He practiced all week," Trestman said. "He's been in the mix. He's been around the football, been in the right places. So it's good to see he's worked through these couple of little things. As far as we see, he hasn't missed rep all week."

The team will use the next few days to determine whether they will use the plastic brace he's used at practice or wrap Fuller's hand for the game.

The Bears also expect to see the return of starting safety Chris Conte, who sat out last week with a shoulder injury.

While the secondary should have its top personnel, the Bears likely will be undermanned at the second level. Linebackers Lance Briggs (ribs) and Jon Bostic (back) are both listed as doubtful for Sunday. If they're absent, youngsters Khaseem Greene and/or Darryl Sharpton would likely have bigger roles.

Briggs was back on the field for practice this week in a limited manner, but is still working his way back into the mix.

"As the trainers say, he's starting to work his way in," Trestman said. "He got some work today. We know he's doubtful, but we'll see where he is over the next couple of days."

Bears reserve safety Danny McCray has been ruled out with a knee injury.

Starting right tackle Jordan Mills is questionable with a foot injury after not practicing Friday. If he can't play, Michael Ola would likely fill in for him.
