Bears Notes: Conte, Gould Ruled Out For Sunday

(CBS) The Bears are limping to the finish line of the 2014 season both literally and figuratively.

The quadriceps injury kicker Robbie Gould suffered in practice two weeks ago is severe enough that it will keep him out of his third consecutive game. Head coach Marc Trestman said it is a "week to week" injury.

"He (Gould) tried very hard to go last week, and it's not quite right," Trestman said. "He wants to kick, so we'll see where he is next week. But obviously he's out this week."

The injury is just the latest chapter in what's been a very disappointing season for Gould, who is on pace to post career lows in points (55), field goals made (9), field goal attempts (12) and field goal percentage (75). Veteran Jay Feely will again assume the kicking duties.

Safety Chris Conte has also been ruled out for Sunday with a back injury. Conte has endured numerous injuries this season -- shoulder, concussion and eye -- and will miss his second straight game (third overall) of the season.

Here's the rest of the injury report from Friday's practice.
