Bears' Jay Cutler, Alshon Jeffery Sidelined From Thursday Practice

By Chris Emma--

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (CBS) -- Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and receiver Alshon Jeffery didn't participate in practice Thursday at Halas Hall.

Cutler continues to recover from a right thumb sprain suffered in Monday's loss to the Eagles. Jeffery is battling a knee ailment, which coach John Fox didn't shed light on.

"It's just something we're monitoring," Fox said of Jeffery's knee.

Fox declined to say whether Cutler will play on Sunday, though it's likely that Brian Hoyer is the Bears' starter at quarterback. Cutler will travel to Dallas with the team. Fox claims that the decision will be made 90 minutes prior to kickoff when the Bears must set their inactives.

The Bears have one more practice -- Friday at Halas Hall -- before they travel to Texas for their Week 3 matchup with the Cowboys.
