Bears Hire Jay Rodgers As Defensive Line Coach

(CBS) John Fox has successfully brought over another coach from Denver to Chicago, with the latest being defensive line coach Jay Rodgers.

Rodgers was with the Broncos for six seasons, spending the last three as their defensive line coach. Over the past three seasons, the Broncos led the league in rushing yards allowed per game (90.8) and ranked fourth in sacks (134).

In 2014, the Broncos were second in the league in run defense (79.8 yards) and surrendered only 29 rushes of 10-plus yards, which was also the league's second-lowest total.

In each of Rodgers' three seasons as defensive line coach, the Broncos had a defensive lineman register a double-digit sack season, and Elvis Dumervil and DeMarcus Ware earned Pro Bowl honors in 2012 and 2014 respectively.

The Bears now have only two coaching vacancies left to fill -- wide receivers and running backs.
