Autopsy: Woman, 24, Pulled From Chicago River Committed Suicide

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A west suburban woman who died Saturday after being pulled from the Chicago River in the Loop committed suicide, an autopsy has revealed.

Dominique Flewellen, 24, was observed in the river about 6 p.m. Friday at 350 W. Van Buren, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

She was rescued by officers from the police Marine Unit and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:35 a.m. Saturday, authorities said. Flewellen lived in the 900 block of Oak Creek Drive in Lombard.

An autopsy Sunday determined she jumped into the river and drowned, the medical examiner's office said. Her death was ruled a suicide.
