Aurora Man Wanted For February Apartment Burglary
(STMW) -- Aurora police are searching for a man who allegedly stole electronics from an apartment in the west suburb last month.
Police think Aurora resident Anthony D. Gant, 29, broke into an apartment in the 1200 block of West Indian Trail and stole about $1,150 in computer equipment, electronics and video games between 7:40 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Feb. 18, according to a statement from police.
Gant, who lives in the same block as the burglary, was identified as the suspect after police used an online system that tracks transactions made through area pawn shops and resale stores. Investigators matched the stolen goods from the buglary to a resale shop in the 800 block of North Lake Street, which recorded Gant as the seller, police said.
Gant is known to frequent the 600 block of Sterling Court in DeKalb, police said. He is described as a 5-foot-11, 245-pound black man with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information can call investigators at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. People who call Crime Stoppers remain anonymous and can qualify for a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest, police said.
