61-Year-Old Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run While Riding Bike In Aurora
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Aurora police are trying to find the driver who crashed into a cyclist and left her to die.
A Kane County Sheriff's deputy was driving around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, when he noticed a bicycle in a grassy area on Edgelawn Drive just south of Prairie Street.

Just after 1:20 a.m., a Kane County Sheriff's Deputy noticed a bicycle in a grassy area on the side of the South Edgelawn Drive, just south of Prairie Street. The deputy located a woman in the line of trees nearby and requested Aurora Police officers and the Aurora Fire Department the scene. The deputy and Aurora Police officers started performing CPR on the woman until paramedics arrived. She was transported to an area hospital by the Aurora Fire Department, where she was pronounced dead. The woman has been identified as 61-year-old Elizabeth Kakoczki of Aurora. Aurora Police's accident investigation team responded to the scene to collect evidence and begin investigating the circumstances of the accident. Officers determined the bicyclist was struck by another vehicle that fled from the scene. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Aurora Police Department's Traffic Unit at 630-256-5330 or call Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 to anonymously report a crime. The deputy then found 61-year-old Elizabeth Kakoczki lying in the patch of trees nearby. He performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
Kakoczki was rushed to the hospital, but was pronounced dead.
Aurora police determined Kakoczki was riding her bike when she was hit by a vehicle which fled the scene.
