Audrina Bigos Joins CBS 2 As General Assignment Reporter
Audrina Bigos is joining CBS 2 Chicago [WBBM-TV] as a general assignment reporter, beginning August 24.
A multi-media journalist and educator, Bigos is coming to CBS 2 after having worked for WCCB-TV in Charlotte, N.C. since 2011. In addition, she has been an instructor at the Carolina School of Broadcasting since 2013.
Bigos was initially hired by WCCB-TV as a reporter and photographer and was promoted to serve as the station's weekend 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. anchor in May 2014.
"I am thrilled to welcome Audrina to our news team," said Jeff Kiernan, Vice President and News Director of CBS 2. "She is a talented reporter, who can work on multiple platforms to help tell original stories of what's happening in and around Chicago."
Bigos began her broadcast career as an anchor, reporter, producer and photojournalist at WUSF-TV, the PBS station in Tampa, Florida that is owned by the University of South Florida. She graduated from USF in 2010 with a degree in telecommunications news.
Bigos said, "Chicago is a reporter's dream city and I'm happy that CBS 2 has chosen me to help tell the stories that matter. I also look forward to becoming a part of this dynamic and diverse community and continuing my advocacy for girls."
While in North Carolina, Bigos launched a self-esteem project entitled – SMART Girls - which has become a permanent program at the Charlotte Boys & Girls Club.
Additionally, she has served as the vice president of broadcast for the Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists and is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
