Attorney General Holder To Meet With Police, Public In Chicago
CHICAGO (AP) -- Attorney General Eric Holder is scheduled to stop in Chicago to speak about ways to build trust between communities and law enforcement.
Holder's meeting with law enforcement, elected officials and the public on Friday is part of an effort launched by President Barack Obama in the wake of clashes between protesters and police in Ferguson, Missouri.
Holder is expected to discuss steps the Obama administration will take to improve the relationship between law enforcement and the community, increase integrity within the justice system and discuss police procedures.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel also is scheduled to attend.
The meeting follows a similar meeting in Atlanta, where Holder said the Justice Department would soon release guidance aimed at ending racial profiling. Other meetings were held in Cleveland and in Memphis, Tennessee.
