Armed Robbers Strike Twice Over Weekend In Waukegan
WAUKEGAN (CBS) -- Police are investigating two armed robberies over the weekend in Waukegan.
At 8:40 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to an armed robbery call in the area of Longview Road and Lorraine Avenue.
The victim reported that he was approached from behind by two black males, struck over the head with a firearm and had personal property stolen from him, police said.
No major injuries were reported.
Both suspects were wearing black Halloween masks.
About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, a second incident was reported at the same intersection, police said.
The victim reported to police that he was approached while on foot by a black male between 6-foot and 6-foot-3 wearing a white Halloween mask.
The suspect struck the victim in the face with a firearm and then robbed him, police said.
The victim had facial injuries that required medical attention.
Police are not releasing what type of property or the amount of money that was taken.
