Archbishop Cupich, St. Petersburg Bishop Wager On Blackhawks-Lightning Stanley Cup Final
(CBS) -- It's getting serious now. There's a new bet on the outcome of the Stanley Cup Final series between the Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning, reports WBBM's Bernie Tafoya.
Archbishop Blase Cupich is offering enough deep dish pizzas from Chicago to serve 300 guests at a homeless shelter in Clearwater, Fla. on the chance the Blackhawks lose the Stanley Cup Final to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In return, if the Lightning lose, Bishop Robert Lynch of the St. Petersburg Diocese is promising to send to St. Leo's Residence in Chicago cases of Florida grapefruit.
"Heaven knows there is no ice in Tampa, so while it is a long shot, we promise to send our real pizzas south in the unlikely event Chicago loses," Archbishop Cupich said.
In 2013, Cardinal Francis George won some clam chowder from Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley after the Blackhawks defeated the Bruins.
