Car Stolen With Dog Inside In Albany Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- An Albany Park family was the latest victim Saturday of auto theft in Chicago.

But they were more concerned about their dog that was inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

At 10:35 a.m., a 33-year-old man told police he had left his vehicle idling with a 3-year-old Labradoodle mix, Nola, inside in the 3500 block of West Lawrence Avenue, near St. Louis Avenue.

A thief then took the victim's 2014 Chevrolet Storm and fled with Nola inside, police said.

The owners said they did not get a good description of the perpetrator because he was wearing a mask.

Nola was microchipped. There were no signs of the car or the dog Saturday night.

The owners told CBS 2 they do not care about the car and just want the dog back.
