91-year-old man first reported to have been shot was actually suffering bleeding from medical incident

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 91-year-old man who police originally believed had been shot in Longwood Manor was suffering a medical incident that caused him to bleed.

Police said, around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a shooting in the 9600 block of South Yale Avenue, and found a 91-year-old man who had been shot in the groin. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

However, the man's family later told CBS 2 the man had not been shot, but suffered a medical incident involving bleeding.

Police later confirmed the man had not been shot.
