72-Year-Old Woman Wounded In Englewood Shooting

(CBS) -- A 72-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting Wednesday evening in the Englewood neighborhood.

Chicago Police say the woman was shot through the window of her home in the 7200 block of South Sangamon Street shortly before 7 p.m. She was wounded in the chest, arm and leg and transported to Advocate Christ Hospital.

Police say the woman is in stable condition. Records show she has lived in the home for four decades.

Witnesses tell police they heard anywhere from four to ten shots and believe the bullets may have been fired from inside a car.

Police are investigating and no suspects are in custody.
