$5,000 Reward Offered After Elgin Bank Robbery

ELGIN (CBS) -- The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the man who robbed a bank Monday morning in northwest suburban Elgin.

The robbery happened at the PNC Bank branch at 28 N. Grove St. about 10 a.m., according to Elgin police.

The suspect made a threatening demand for money, and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police and the FBI. No one was hurt.

He is described as a black man about 35, 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds. He was wearing a black hat, sunglasses, and gray or tan fleece, authorities said.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information. Anyone who recognizes the suspect should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
