5 People Shot, 1 Killed In Chatham Drive-By

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Five people were shot Monday evening in the Chatham community, and one of them died.

The shooting happened in the 700 block of East 92nd Place, near Langley Avenue, around 6:15 p.m., police said.

The victims were on a porch when a white vehicle passed by and someone inside fired shots at them all, police said.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the back and was pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center, police said.

Another 22-year-old man was shot in the left buttock and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition, police said.

A 26-year-old man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition with a shot to the upper arm. A 24-year-old man was taken to the same hospital in good condition with a shot to the upper left thigh.

A 25-year-old woman was also shot in the upper thigh and was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, police said.
