3 Firefighters Hospitalized When Ceiling Collapses As They Fight South Shore Blaze

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Three firefighters were rushed to the hospital Sunday after a ceiling fell down on them as they fought a fire in South Shore.

Firefighters were called to the three-story residential building at 6711 S. Cregier Ave.

The Fire Department said they were pulling down the ceiling trying to find the fire, when the ceiling in the room collapsed on them.

The firefighters were all taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

No one else was hurt.
