2 Wounded In Far South Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man and woman were injured in a Fernwood neighborhood shooting early Friday on the Far South Side.

They were standing outside about 12:15 a.m. in the 10200 block of South State when someone got out of a white vehicle and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said. The vehicle then drove away.

The 33-year-old man was shot in the foot and taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Greer said. The woman's age wasn't known because she declined medical treatment for a graze wound to her leg and left the scene.

Police said the shooting might have been gang-related.
