2 People Shot On I-57 During Rush Hour

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two people are recovering from gunshot wounds after a shooting on I-57 near Halsted, according to Illinois State Police.

The two people shot drove themselves to a hospital in Evergreen Park, but were later taken to Stroger Hospital.

Chopper 2 flew over the scene where investigators placed evidence markers on the pavement.

When state police first arrived on the scene, they say they could not find any signs of a shooting. About a half hour later, Chicago police notified state police that two people were shot.

The shooting happened during rush hour and in broad daylight around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The two gunshot victims are in stable condition at Stroger Hospital.

No arrests have been made at this time.
