2 Injured, 9 Displaced By Extra-Alarm Fire In Portage Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two people have been hospitalized and nine were displaced after an extra-alarm fire in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The 2-11 fire was first reported about 8 p.m. in a two-story building at the corner or Irving Park Road and Central Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs. Crews set up a collapse zone on the building's west side. The fire was struck out about 10:45 p.m.

Two people, whose ages, genders and conditions were not immediately known, were hospitalized with smoke inhalation, fire media said.Four adults and five children were displaced as a result of the blaze, according to fire media.
