18 Workers Have Tested Positive For COVID-19 At Tootsie Roll Factory On Southwest Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The coronavirus pandemic has reached one of Chicago's sweetest places.

Tootsie Roll Industries' Chicago factory, 7401 S. Cicero Ave., has seen 18 workers test positive for COVID-19.

Tootsie Roll said the employees are staying home, and so is anyone they came into contact with.

The company said it is following all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for social distancing and sanitizing.
