15 Shot Across Chicago Since Thursday Afternoon
CHICAGO (STMW) -- At least 15 people, including a 56-year-old woman and 67-year-old woman, were wounded in shootings across the city since Thursday afternoon.
Most recently, a 25-year-old man walked into Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center after he was shot in the hand in the 7800 block of South South Shore Drive, police said.
About 1:20 a.m. Friday, a 48-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were sitting in the living room of a residence in the 300 block of East 136th Street when someone fired shots into the home about 1:20 a.m., police said.
The woman was shot in the right knee and the man was shot in the right arm, police said. Both were taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island and were listed in "stable" condition.
About 11:30 p.m. Thursday, a teen boy and two men were shot in the Pullman neighborhood on the South Side.
The three were in the 9500 block of South Woodlawn Avenue about 11:30 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan pulled up next to them and someone from inside opened fire, police said.
The 16-year-old and 23-year-old were both shot in the right thigh and both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in "stable" condition, police said.
Later, a 26-year-old man who was also wounded in the shooting was dropped off by friends at Advocate Trinity Hospital, police said. The man -- who was shot in the thigh and back -- was later transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
About 9:20 p.m., two people were shot in the Far South Side Roseland neighborhood. A 20-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were in the 10400 block of South Wentworth Avenue when they were shot about 9:20 p.m., police said. The woman was in a vehicle headed southbound on Wentworth Avenue when she observed a male on the sidewalk firing shots. She was treated by authorities at the scene for a graze wound to her back.
The man, who was not believed to be in the vehicle with the woman, also was shot and was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where he is listed in good condition.
A 56-year-old woman was shot earlier Thursday afternoon in the Roseland neighborhood. The woman was shot in the foot about 5:15 p.m. in the 0 to 100 block of East 100th Place, police said.
She was taken to Roseland Community Hospital, where she is listed in "stable" condition, police said.
Six other people have been shot across the city since Thursday afternoon.
No one is in custody for any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
