14 Arrested In Lake County As Part Of "National Day Of Johns" Prostitution Sting
(CBS) -- The Sheriff's Department in Lake County has released the results of a prostitution sting last month called National Day of Johns, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.
The sheriff's gang task force and criminal investigations division joined a coalition of federal and local law enforcement in a nationwide operation targeting customers of prostitutes or Johns.
Investigators placed ads on a website that is used for sex trafficking and arrested those who made appointments and showed up offering undercover officers money for sex acts.
There were a total of 14 arrests in Lake County, ranging in ages from 18 to 72.
In the four years the stings have been conducted, 4,000 arrests have been made.
