12-Year-Old Shot While Standing On A Sidewalk In North Lawndale

CHICAGO (CBS)-- A 12-year old boy was shot on Chicago's West Side.

The boy told police he was standing on the sidewalk when he heard gunshots and then quickly realized he was shot in the leg.

The shooting took place at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at 16^th and Homan in North Lawndale.

The boy is being treated at Stroger Hospital and he is expected to recover.
