1 Killed, 1 Wounded In Gary Shooting

(STMW) -- A 40-year-old northwest Indiana man was killed and another person wounded in a Saturday night Gary shooting.

Jerome Long was found with several gunshot wounds about 9:45 p.m. in the 3700 block of Monroe Street, according to Gary police and the Lake County coroner's office.

Long, of Gary's 800 block of Tennessee Street, was taken to Methodist Hospital Northlake, where he was pronounced dead at 11:28 p.m., authorities said. His death was ruled a homicide.

Another male victim from the same shooting later showed up at the hospital with a leg wound, police said. His age was unknown.
