1 Dead, 2 Wounded In Police-Involved Shootings
CHICAGO (CBS) -- One man is dead and two others are injured after three shootings involving Chicago Police Friday, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.
Around 10 p.m. in the Portage Park neighborhood, Chicago Police received a call of a man with a gun near Berenice and Cicero.
FOP spokesman Pat Camden says officers saw something under the man's arm and tried to stop him when he pointed a large revolver at the officers.
"The officer defends himself, fires a shot. The offender his hit, manages to run down the alley a short distance before the officer's partner is able to kind of head him of," said Camden.
Camden describes the gun found on the gun as a "Dirty Harry" type of weapon. The man died from the shooting and no officers were hurt.
The other police involved shooting were in Hamilton Park and Rogers Park. Both men suffered serious injuries in those cases.
The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating.
