CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and another was critically wounded in a shooting Tuesday night in Chatham.

About 9:50 p.m., the two men were standing on the sidewalk in the 7900 block of South Vincennes Avenue, police said. Two other males walked up and opened fire, striking both men several times.

Jajuan Porter, 18, of the 600 block of East 131st Street, was pronounced dead at the scene minutes after the shooting, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A 26-year-old was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder, police said.

Porter was a known gang member, according to a police source.
