- In the USA's 2-1 win over Ghana, Clint Dempsey scored just 34 seconds into the game. That's the fastest the U.S. has ever scored, and the sixth-fastest goal scored in the World Cup.
- Ghana is the youngest team in this year's tournament.
- With his goal in the second half to put the U.S. up 2-1, John Brooks became the first U.S. men's substitute to score a goal in the World Cup.
