Worcester City Council Approves Pension Petition For Officer Manny Familia's Family

WORCESTER (CBS) – The Worcester City Council unanimously approved a petition that would help support the family of fallen Police Officer Manny Familia.
Under current state law, drowning is not considered a line-of-duty death, meaning Familia's family would not qualify to receive his full pension.
Familia drowned earlier this month while trying to save a teen at a Worcester pond.
The petition will now be sent to state lawmakers.
