Woman Killed In Worcester House Fire, Survivors Jump To Escape

WORCESTER (CBS) - A woman was killed in a fire at a home in Worcester early Wednesday morning in which all of the survivors were forced to jump out of windows.

Firefighters were called to a 2-story home on Circuit Avenue East around 4:15 a.m. for the two-alarm fire.

When they arrived they found four adults outside. All four had jumped out of windows to escape the flames.

But, they told firefighters a woman was still trapped on the second floor.

The woman was found and rushed to the hospital where she died.

Her name has not been released. The fire department told WBZ-TV she was 64 years old.

The four survivors were taken to the hospital with what are described as "non-life-threatening injuries."

There's no word yet on what caused the fire.
