Woman Hit By Bat At Fenway In Fair Condition, Family Says
BOSTON (CBS) - The woman struck by a broken bat during a Red Sox game at Fenway Park Friday night has now been listed in fair condition, according to her family.
Tonya Carpenter was hit in the head by part of the bat that was used by Oakland Athletics third baseman Brett Lawrie. Carpenter was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
"We would like to thank everyone for their continued support, especially the fans at Fenway Park, first responders, Boston EMS, Boston Police and her care team at Beth Israel Deaconess," Carpenter's family said in a written statement Monday.

Lawrie sent flowers and a card to Carpenter, The San Francisco Gate reported.
The Red Sox issued a statement Monday:
All of us with the Boston Red Sox continue to extend our best wishes to Tonya Carpenter, who was injured by a broken bat at Friday night's game. The well-being of Tonya and her loved ones are forefront in our minds.
Major League Baseball will re-examine fan safety at ballparks, and we will fully participate in that process.
