Blizzard Conditions Leave Thousands Without Power
BOSTON (CBS) -- Thousands of people were without power in Massachusetts Sunday morning as a powerful winter storm battered New England.
The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency reported just over 2,000 customers were experiencing outages as of 11:30 a.m. Most of the outages are concentrated in eastern Massachusetts.
In Provincetown, 5,525 people, or 97 percent of residents, were without power for a short period on Sunday morning before it was restored.
A blizzard warning was issued for eastern and central Massachusetts through Monday morning. The coast could be hit with hurricane-force winds, and temperatures are expected to fall below zero on Sunday night.
