Wearing 'Free Brady' Shirt, Gov. Baker Completes Ice Bucket Challenge

BOSTON (CBS) – Wearing a "Free Brady" t-shirt, Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Monday on the steps of the State House along with several other politicians.

Pete Frates, who helped the fundraising campaign go viral last summer, was on hand for the event.

This summer, the Frates family revamped their efforts to raise money for ALS research.

After last year's efforts raised more than $100 million for the cause, the Frates family relaunched the campaign with the slogan "Every August Until A Cure."

Earlier this summer the Red Sox took the challenge as a team as a way to begin a Major League Baseball's league-wide participation in the Ice Bucket Challenge.

When he stepped out onto the State House steps, Baker was sporting a red shirt that said "Free Brady" along with a graphic printed on it of suspended New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady was punished 4 games for his roles in "DeflateGate," though he is currently appealing NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's decision in court.
