Weare, NH, Man Arrested After Leading Police On Chase
HOOKSETT, N.H. (CBS) -- A Weare man was arrested Saturday after leading police on a chase in Hooksett and Manchester, the police said.
At about 10:20 a.m., a Hooksett officer saw Tyler Payne, 28, of Weare, driving on Hooksett Road in a Ford F-250 plow truck belonging to Weare-based Big Al's Landscaping. The officer knew Payne was wanted on a felony warrant out of Manchester as well as a probation warrant, the police said in a prepared statement.
The officer tried to stop Payne on Hooksett Road, but the Weare man refused to stop, leading police on a chase from Hooksett onto Interstate 93 and Interstate 293 before exiting the highway in Manchester. The pursuit continued through Manchester and ended back in Hooksett on Hooksett Road at the intersection of Alice Avenue, the police said.
Hooksett officers arrested Payne with the assistance of the Manchester Police Department. Payne was charged with disobeying a police officer and reckless operation in Hooksett as well as being detained on the Manchester and probation warrants.
Payne was held at the Merrimack County Jail and faces arraignment Monday.
