Warriors Klay Thompson Questionable Vs. Celtics
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Celtics may only have to face off against half of Golden State's Splash Brothers on Friday.
Warriors guard Klay Thompson is questionable for Friday night's game in Boston after missing Thursday's practice with a sprained right ankle. He suffered the injury Tuesday night in Golden State's 131-123 win over the Pacers, a night he scored a season-high 39 points as the Warriors improved to 23-0.
While Thompson was out there taking shots on Thursday, Warriors interim coach Luke Walton said the team isn't going to risk anything long-term.
"If there's any concern at all that his ankle is hurt, then we're not going to play him," said Walton. "If he feels good and the trainers say he's good, then there'll be a chance he will play."
Thompson is a big part of the best offense in the NBA, averaging 18.2 points on 47 percent shooting from the floor for the season. As a team, the Warriors are averaging an NBA-best 115.8 points per contest.
The Warriors already know they'll be without Harrison Barnes on Friday night, as the forward will miss Golden State's next two games with a sprained ankle.
